The heads of the missions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization have approved new rules for accepting new members, RIA Novosti reports.
Also, the situation in Kyrgyzstan was discussed. The organization passed a resolution in which the sovereignty of the country is supported. One more point of discussion was the situation in Afghanistan. The council concluded that only a peaceful solution to the Afghan problem is possible.
The 10th anniversary of the organization will be celebrated in 2011. The SCO will continue looking for new cooperation opportunities, for example, cooperation with the anti-terrorist committee of the OSCE and with the international anti-drug directorate is being planned.
