Turkey and Russia may abolish visas

Turkish prime Minister Recep Tayyp Erdogan said during the visit of Dmitry Medvedev to Ankara, that Turkey and Russia may abolish visa system between the two countries, reporting RIA Novosti referring to Turkish media.

Nowadays, for Russian citizens prevails abated visa system. For Russian citizens, visas can be obtained at any point of entrance. The issue of abolishing visa system was discussed during the Erdogan’s visit to Moscow in January. Then was also made a decision on starting working out an intergovernmental agreement on visa-free regime for both the Turkish citizens going to Russia and the Russian going to Turkey.

"In all probability, we will sign a treaty on strategic cooperation with Mr. Medvedev on the highest level and abolish the visa system,” said Erdogan in the Bosnian University of Sarajevo.
