Vaagn Arakelyan becomes vice-mayor of Yerevan

The former deputy head of ArmRosgazprom, Vaagn Arakelyan, has become
the new vice-mayor of Yerevan, News Armenia reports.


The appointment was made by the Council of Elders of Yerevan on
Friday, introduced by Mayor Karen Karapetyan.


The new vice-mayor told journalists that he has already looked at some
legal actions concerning the financial situation in the city, but
cannot comment on the issue yet.


He also denied expectations of a staff drain from ArmRosgazprom.
Arakelyan said that he left the organization prior to Karapetyan
becoming mayor.
