35 dead in terrorist attack at Moscow Domodedovo airport

According to the latest information, as a result of the terrorist attack at Domodedovo airport 35 people died and over 130 were injured.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, due to the terrorist attack at Domodedovo airport, has cancelled his visit to the Davos Economic Forum, scheduled for tomorrow. At an emergency meeting, he instructed the Transport Minister, Igor Levitin, to introduce a special regime for all the airports and major transportation hubs, in cooperation with the FSB.

The Russian security services were forewarned about the possibility of a terrorist attack at Moscow airport, a source in the law-enforcement bodies told RIA Novosti .

As stated by the editor-in-chief of “Vestnik Kavkaza,” Alexei Vlasov, the explosion at Domodedovo airport again highlights that Russia and the capital Moscow is under threat of terrorism. "These tragic events have a double meaning. Firstly, they show a lack of awareness of the special services, which through their channels do not have time to get information about the threat at such an important strategic facility as an airport. Secondly, it is the nature of the terrorism, which, unfortunately, remains unexplored to us," Alexey Vlasov said.
