Ten suspected terrorists detained in Moscow

The head of the Russian Investigation Committee Alexander Bastrykin is
confident that the terrorists who planned  attacks in Moscow in late
2010 will be arrested, Interfax reports.

10 suspected members of terrorist groups were arrested. Several more
are on the federal and international wanted lists and will be arrested
in the near future, he said at a meeting with the Russian president.

The National Counter-Terrorist Committee said earlier that 4
terrorists were arrested in Dagestan on January 29. They are Shamil
Baymambetov (born in 1980), Timur Akubekov (1979), Ilyas Saidov (1987)
and Khayrulla Magomedov (1983). They confessed involvement in the
Moscow blast on December 31.

The investigation believes that the criminals arrived in Moscow in
late December to carry out attacks on the New Year Eve. The attacks
were planned in Moscow airports and Manezhnaya Square. The attacks
were prevented. A blast happened at the Sports-Pistol Club of the
Military-Hunting Society hotel on Golovachyov Street in Moscow. A
female, who was to become a suicide-bomber, was killed in the
explosion. The police identified her as the wife of Ibragimkhalil
Davudov and mother of three of his sons, members of militant groups.
