Secondary schools in Georgia will receive stars based on assessment
results. The legislative proposal on school branding has already been
introduced to parliament, Georgia Online reports.
The bill provides for mandatory branding for all public schools and
voluntary branding for private ones.
The branding of schools will be based on a 10-star system, which will
be assigned based on various criteria, e.g. qualifications of
teachers, participation in programs and projects, percent of graduates
entering university, etc.
Initially, all schools will be awarded 5 stars, with the rest being
calculated based on compliance with certain criteria.
