Georgian schoolchildren to continue studying Russian as a foreign language

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will continue
offering Russian language lessons in Georgian schools. As Deputy
Minister of Education Irina Kurdadze explained, the new national
curriculum changes concern English and introduce obligatory English
classes for children starting in the first grade, Georgia Online
reports.

According to Kurdadze, the school can begin to teach a second foreign
language, including Russian, from just any class.
