Armenia adopts law on National Academy of Sciences

Deputies of the Armenian National Assembly today passed the first
reading of the laws “On the National Academy of Sciences "and “On
Scientific and Technical Work", ARKA reports. As Minister for
Education and Science of Armenia Armen Ashotyan states, bills have
come through a long process of discussions, as the government
attempted to find the most effective format for the National Academy
of Sciences of Armenia.

According to him, this version of the bill is not final, it will
undergo many new changes during discussions in the parliament.

According to the law "On Scientific and Technical Work,” the Academy
will become the ultimate scientific center of Armenia and will receive
special status in the development, implementation and regulation of
science and science policy.
