National organizations protest against fascists

Members of the Russian Congress of Caucasus Peoples, the “Multinational Russia” club, the Alliances of Student Communities and other organizations held a protest in Moscow, under the logo “We say ‘no’ to fascism on Russian soil”, RIA Novosti reports.

Sultan Togonidze, head of the youth committee of the Russian Congress of Caucasus Peoples, said that their action is a protest against the outcries on Manezhnaya Square on December 11.

Over 5,000 people gathered on Manezhnaya Square on December 11, 2010. They gathered at Kronstadt Avenue after a memorial gathering for Yegor Sviridov, a Spartak football club fan who died in a fight on December 6. The police say that 32 people were injured. Dozens of criminal cases were initiated, including the case of an attack on a police officer.
