The police are holding a high-scale operation to eliminate Doku
Umarov, a militant leader in the North Caucasus, RIA Novosti cites the
Commander of the Interior Troops of the Russian Defense Ministry,
Nikolai Rogozhkin, on Tuesday.
Umarov took responsibility for organizing the terrorist attack at
Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on January 24, 2011. The explosive device
was activated by a suicide bomber. It contained metal projectiles.
The bomb was equal to 7 kg of TNT. 36 died and over 120 were injured.
Three people were arrested, including the sister and the brother of
the suicide bomber, Magomed Yevloyev.
