Agriculture and machinery construction increase in Dagestan

The head of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, and the head of regional 'Gazprom' office signed an agreement concerning construction of a liquefied gas processing plant, 'Dagestan' Media agency reports. The officials discussed several other issues as well. Dagestani economy is now going through a period of considerable growth: performance index in the field of electrical equipment production rose by 13%. Progress was also achieved in the field of radio-technical equipment without attracting any investments from federal budget. Dagestani enterprises 'Sapphire' and 'Volna' ('The Wave') supplies modern radio equipment to almost all Russian airports. Several other promising investment projects are underway.

Gross domestic product in the sphere of agriculture increased by 4% as compared to 2009.  Total mass of grain harvested in 2010 is 220,800 tons. Unfortunately, several indicators, such as potato harvest, decreased as compared to 2009 due to the defects in melioration systems. The output of vine increased by 27,1% .
