Armenia marks National Language Day

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has congratulated his people on
National Language Day, News Armenia cites the president’s
press-service.

The president noted that this is the sixth time Armenia has marked the
day. Every state preserves its national consciousness and dignity
through language, faith and culture. Language is a guarantee of a
nation’s formation and a foundation for its existence, energy and
power.

Sargsyan said that moving away from the Armenian mother tongue means
moving away from the Armenian people and national roots and becoming a
rogue, unstable and lost individual without a fatherland.

The state leader noted that a young Armenian must make his language
sacred, be vigilant and understand that knowing other languages should
not be a reason for forgetting the national language.
