Ukraine will help evacuate Azerbaijani citizens from Libya, Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov said, Trend cites RBC-Ukraine.


Eight Azerbaijani citizens will be transported from Tripoli on February 23.


Mammadyarov is on an official visit to Ukraine. The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Libya, Agaselim Shukyurov, said that several citizens temporarily living in Libya had requested evacuation.


There are 15-16 Azerbaijani citizens operating in international oil companies in Libya.

The Libyan protesters are demanding the resignation of Muammar al-Gaddafi, who has been in power for 42 years. Human Rights Watch says that at least 233 people have died in clashes with the law-enforcers. The protests started on February 15.
