WikiLeaks founder to be extradited to Sweden

An English court has approved a Swedish request to extradite Julian Assange, aged 39, RIA Novosti reports.

London’s Belmarsh Magistrates' Court judge Howard Riddle announced his decision on Thursday, after two and a half days of hearings that started in early February.

The Swedish prosecution demanded Assange’s extradition, based on accusation of sexual violations, including a rape, from two Swedish women.

Assange may appeal the decision within seven days, which he plans to do at the Court of Appeal, his lawyer Jeffrey Robertson said.
