Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has urged militants to avoid organizing attacks against Muslim civilians, Reuters cites the deputy leader of the terrorists, Ayman al-Zawahiri, as saying on Friday.
Zawahiri said that Al-Qaeda is not responsible for the terrorist attack on the Christian church in Egypt in which over 23 people died.
The blast at the church in Alexandria on New Year's Eve killed 23 and injured approximately 100 people. The police say that the bomb was activated by a suicide bomber. Experts and officials said that the terrorist attack was organized by foreigners.
Al-Qaeda has threatened Egyptian Christians.
