Necmettin Erbakan, the former leader of Turkey's Islamic political movement and a former prime minister of the country, has died aged 84, Hurrieyt reports.
Erbakan was hospitalized in Ankara in early January due to a foot infection. Erbakan died at Ankara's Güven hospital at 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, Hurriyet cites Anatolia news agency.
Erbakan served only a year as prime minister, before he was pressured by the military to resign in 1997.
