Azerbaijani and Turkish communities living in the USA have sent hundreds of letters to President Barack Obama requesting him to mention their nationalities when congratulating people on Nowruz, APA reports.
Nowruz is usually celebrated on March 21. It is an official holiday in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Azerbaijani and Turkic peoples were not congratulated on Nowruz by the US president in 2006-2010, the letter says.
