Final suspect in fight with Spartak football club fan in Moscow detained

The police in Makhachkala have detained the final suspect in the fight with a Spartak football club fan in Moscow, spokesman of the Russian Investigation Committee Vladimir Markin said, RIA Novosti reports.


Sviridov, the fan, was shot from a traumatic pistol on Kronstadt Avenue in Moscow on December 6, 2010. The suspects were detained the same night, but five of the six of them were released.

Resentful football fans started mass protests in the center of Moscow, blocking Leningrad Avenue. The protests turned into mass disorders on Manezhnaya Square.


Ramazan Utarbiyev, born in 1990, was detained in Makhachkala on March 7. He was charged with organized hooliganism using weapons and assault.


The other suspects are Aslan Cherkesov, accused of murdering Sviridov, and Akay Akayev, Hasan Ibragimovm, Nariman Ismailov and Artur Arbisiyev, who are also accused of hooliganism.
