Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has had a meeting on the socio-economic development of Baku and nearby villages, Trend cites the president’s official website.
The president viewed a photo stand on reconstruction in Baku and its outskirts.
He emphasized that turning Baku into a metropolis is a priority. Transport infrastructure, energy network, gas economy, warming, sewer systems and other facilities have been improved.
Aliyev noted that Baku is being beautified and greened up. The Icheri Shekher center was put on the list of UNESCO’s world heritage sites. Construction of the Heydar Aliyev Center is a unique project, he said.
The executive head of Baku, Gajibal Abutalybov, told about the work on speeding up the socio-economic development of Baku and its outskirts. He underlined the role of the Heydar Aliyev Fund in reconstruction.
Official from the executive authorities in the village of Mashtag in Sabushin District Rasim Agayev, chairman of the Lokbatan municipality of Garadag District Nizami Namazaliyev, spokesman of the executive authorities of the village of Bulbul in Surakhan District Elchin Seyfullayev, chairman of the Binagadin municipality Fazil Babayev and a representative of the village of Shagan in Hazar District Tevekkul Salimov talked about the requests of the population. They thanked Mahriban Aliyev, the first lady of Azerbaijan and president of the Heydar Aliyev Fund, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO and parliament deputy, for her active part in Baku's reconstruction.
The president noted the importance of further improvement of the energy, gas and water supply, sewers and modernization of inter-village and village roads.
Concerning registration of private housing, Aliyev ordered the problem to be solved in the near future using a clear mechanism. He emphasized the need for constructing educational, healthcare and sports facilities and reconstructing cultural and religious structures.
Special attention was paid to ecology. Aliyev ordered forests to be planted around the Baku area. He said that the White City project will be realized.
The president touched upon the employment issue. He talked about increasing employment, restoration of traditional spheres of the economy, determination of beneficial loans for small- and medium-sized businesses, attraction of foreign investors and active participation in the country’s investment company.
