DSMU-Gazstroy has started constructing a deep-sea water discharge 4 km deep in the Black Sea at the Imereti depression and Adler water treatment facilities. The water discharge will be 3.9 km long. The pipe diameter will be 2.26 m, Yuga.ru reports.
Press-service of the department for realization of the authority for hosting the Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Krasnodar Territory reminded that modernization of the communal facilities in Sochi includes construction of three technologically interconnected facilities, including sewers for the water treatment facility Bzugu, construction of a new sewer pumping station. The final stage will have a deep-sea water discharge for biological drainage.
The water discharge system will use materials produced in Russia. All the pipes will have inner and outer covering and will be tested before usage at the construction site. Special deep-sea trenches will be built for the pipes to prevent damage to them from anchors, hydrodynamic threats and damage to the Black Sea’s eco system.
The pipe bell will have a length of 267 m and will have many dispersers. The project was approved in terms of ecology. The construction is planned to be completed in the third quarter of 2011.
