In Istanbul, more than 100 thousand people have taken part in a May Day demonstration. Approximately 20,000 policemen have been involved in ensuring law and order. It is the first rally since 1977, when an unknown man opened fire at the demonstration. 37 people were killed then and over 100 injured, reports Reuters.
