Opposition leaders arrested in Georgia for violating the rule of law

Georgian police have detained members of the Representative Assembly of People, Gia Burjanadze Beso Tabatadze, the leader of the youth movement Merab Chikashvili, a member of the youth movement Ara,  Oto Bekauri and another opposition activist, whose identity is still unknown.

The detention of the activists followed the attempt of members of youth organizations to block traffic.

The patrol police attempted to cease the protests, which resulted in clashes between the police and protesters. As a result, the law enforcers arrested five activists.
