Four Georgians killed in Congo plane crash identified

Four Georgians who died in a plane crash at Kinshasa Airport in Congo have been identified. They are 22-year old pilot David Tsutskiridze, crew member Guram Kepuladze and technician Albert Manyukov, Georgia Online reports.


Crew commander David Oganesyan has not been identified yet. 20 people killed in the crash are UN officials.


The CRJ-type plane crashed while attempting to land. Its chassis failed to activate. A fire broke out in the plane. The plane was fulfilling a UN mission. 26 people died, according to preliminary information. There were 32 people on board.


The plane went into a major tropical storm. It broke apart.


Caucasus-Press reported that the plane belonged to the company Airzena. It was in good condition and had undergone a technical inspection at Lufthansa in December 2010.
