Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has awarded the Director General of the Federal Unitary Enterprise “ITAR-TASS”, Vitaly Ignatenko, with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland second degree, the Kremlin press service reports.
Ignatenko was awarded for his contribution to realization of state policy in information and fruitful work.
Medvedev also sent a congratulatory note, underlining Ignatenko’s achievements and authority.
The telegram notes that Ignatenko’s organization, talent and energy allowed the agency to keep its positions on the world media market.
Ignatenko has been supervising ITAR-TASS since August 1991. He is celebrating his 70th birthday.
