Militants in the North Caucasus have an ideological program to recruit and frighten the population, deputy head of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee Yevgeny Ilyin said, RIA Novosti reports.
The official said that militants are opening websites promoting their activities and issuing “daily news”. The police found a militant’s notepad with plans to make a documentary and publish a magazine about the life of Wahhabis.
Ilyin said that militants are using self-made bombs hidden inside toys and household goods. They make attempts to distort history, for example by blowing up the Eternal Flame monument.
