Kutaisi is celebrating the Town Day, a traditional festival that started in the 19th century, Georgia Online reports.
Originally, the day was called Gviriloba (Gvirila - camomile) because Kutaisi girls were selling camomiles on the streets for charity.
Chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze, ministers PMs and diplomats, as well as delegations from 18 states, will visit the city for the festival.
There will be music and stage performances, recreation and entertainment. Papers with verses will be dropped from helicopters in the evening.
