Veterans of Kabardino-Balkaria to receive 5,000 rubles each for Victory Day

The authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria will provide each veteran of the Great Patriotic War and widows of fallen soldiers with 5,000 rubles each for Victory Day, the Kabardino-Balkarian president’s press-service told RIA Novosti.


There are 948 disabled soldiers and veterans, 2288 widows of dead soldiers and over 10,400 war workers of the Great Patriotic War.


Part of the finances for them will be provided by the personal fund of the Kabardino-Balkarian leader, Arsen Kanokov. Another part will be provided by the all-republican volunteer clean-up for support of the older generation. The republican office of the Pension Fund will also provide financial support.


The Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kabardino-Balkaria said that six veterans received new housing this year. Over 4.3 million rubles were spent.


The Russian Ministry of Regional Development provided Kabardino-Balkaria with over 14.5 million rubles of subventions from the federal budget to purchase housing. 18 veterans received documents for subsidies for housing.


16.4 million rubles will be issued by the federal budget of Kabardino-Balkaria to improve the living conditions of 18 more veterans.


The republic has a total of 228 veterans registered for improvement of accommodation.
