A memorial complex was opened in the Chechen capital Grozny on May 8th. Presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin, Chechen President Ramzan Kadirov, ambassadors from more than ten states, and other officials took part in the ceremony, reports Yuga.ru
The memorial complex occupies more than five hectares. At the entrance there is a monument to Hero of the USSR Movladi Mosaitov. The main 2-storey building of the memorial complex holds a museum in honor of former Chechen President Ahmat Kadirov, an exhibition devoted to Chechen war heroes and several retrospectives - "H. Nurdaliev- Defender of Stalingrad", "Defenders of Brest Fortress", and others. A 38-metre high monument has been erected in the central part of the memorial complex.
