A festive evening celebrating the 66th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany took place today in Baku on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the History Department of the Moscow State University Lomonosov with the assistance of the Russian Embassy.
The representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ilgar Mustafayev, congratulated the participants on behalf of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of the UNESCO and ISESCO, deputy Mehriban Aliyeva.
The deputy dean of the History Department of the Moscow State University, professor of the Russian State University of Humanities, Alexei Vlasov, was also present at the event. In his speech he noted that “to remember history, to respect and appreciate those who 66 years ago did not spare their lives and health in order to preserve the future for all of us is the main value, which every nation in the post-Soviet space has in common."
At the end of the event, students of the History Department of the Moscow State University performed poems by Soviet authors dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, as well as wartime songs in military uniforms.
