The parade devoted to the 65th anniversary of victory in the Great
Patriotic War has finished in Moscow. Representatives from 10 armies
of the CIS and military personnel of the USA, the UK, France and
Poland marched through Red Square, RIA Novosti reports.
The participation of military forces from Russia, the CIS
member-states and the anti-Hitler coalition in the Victory Day parade
in Moscow proves that there is a common willingness not to allow new
tragedies or revision of the war’s results, Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev said.
Medvedev recalled that millions of people of different ages,
nationalities, ethnicities and religions lost their lives in the war.
The President congratulated war veterans, Russian citizens, foreign
guests and military personnel on the anniversary of the Great Victory
and said: “Nazism was destroyed 65 years ago, the apparatus of
extermination of entire nations was stopped. Peace returned to Russia
and Europe. An ideology, which was destroying the foundations of
civilization, was ended”
