Heroin traffic to drop in North Caucasus

Heroin traffic from the East through the North Caucasus has dropped this year. However, hashish smuggling has increased, RIA Novosti cites Igor Gorkov, head of the State Drug-Control Committee in the North Caucasus.

Gorkov did not give figures on the quantities of traffic. He said that they can only stop 10% of traffic, which goes through Dagestan, through the Caspian Sea and the ports of Olya, Astrakhan, Makhachkala. Then it is transported from central Russia back.
