On Friday afternoon a grenade exploded in Tskhinvali, RIA Novosti
reports, referring to a source in the local law-enforcement agencies.
"According to preliminary data, this afternoon in Tskhinvali, due to
reasons as yet unknown, an unexpected explosion of a grenade occurred,
one person was killed, another injured by shrapnel," the source said.
According to Interfax, the blast killed one and injured two people.
"One of the victims, Vladimir Khachirov, died in the republic's
somatic hospital in Tskhinvali . The condition of the two wounded men- Constantin Chochiev and Albert Bestaev - remains grave," a spokesman
for the Interior Ministry said. No details have been disclosed.
