The Russian Federation Council has confirmed Yuri Chaika’s re-appointment to the General Prosecutor's office for another 5 years, Interfax reports.
Mr Chaika’s candidature was proposed to the Council by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Yuri Chaika addressed the Council before the vote and promised to continue his uncompromising fight against crime and corruption if he was to be re-elected to the office.
