Azerbaijan plans to solve all its poverty problems by 2015, Minister
of Labour and Social Support Fizuli Alekperov said, Trend reports.
Azerbaijan is successfully realizing the state program to cope with
poverty for 2008-2015. Poverty dropped to 10.9% of the population in
2009, 9% in 2010, it is planned to drop to 0% in 2015.
Over 900,000 workplaces were created in 2003-2010. Regular
improvements in the wage system and other factors contributed to
coping with poverty.
The number of people in poverty was 13.2% in 2008, 16% in 2007, 20.8%
in 2006, 29% in 2005 and 49% in 2004.
