Plane carrying Vladikavkaz gas blast injured lands in St. Petersburg

An Emergency Situation Ministry plane carrying 12 people injured in a gas explosion in Vladikavkaz has landed in St. Petersburg, RIA Novosti reports referring to the information of the Russian Emergency Ministry. 

 

The aircraft is equipped with three mobile MES modules for transportation of the wounded. Each module allows to carry four people. On board the wounded were accompanied by doctors as well as psychologists from the Center for Emergency Psychological Care of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry. Another flight was scheduled to leave North Ossetia in the direction of Moscow with eight wounded on Tuesday morning.

 

A gas cylinder exploded on Saturday in the courtyard of a private home in Vladikavkaz, in the midst of a wedding. As a result, 55 people were injured, 20 of them are in serious condition. The cause of the explosion, according to preliminary data, was a depressurized cylinder which exploided from overheating.
