Baku is hosting the third conference of Azerbaijani communities, 1272
people will attend it.
The forum will have 579 delegates and 211 guests from 42 states. 155
delegates of Azerbaijani communities in Russia will visit the
conference, 101 from Turkey, 49 from Ukraine, 43 from Germany, 41 from
Georgia, 28 from USA, 23 from Sweden, 21 from Holland, 17 from Israel,
13 from Uzbekistan, 12 from France, 11 from UK and Northern Ireland,
10 from Canada.
677 delegates and 405 guests will represent state and government
structures., non-governmental organizations, scientific, educational
and cultural structures and political parties.
The forum will see 29 MPs from 13 states.
The third conference will have a meeting of heads of Azerbaijani state
structures on July 6. Everyone present will be informed about the
development of economy, projects, youth policy, development of
education, culture, tourism and organizing an adequate life for
Azerbaijanis living abroad.
The State Committee for diasporas published a set of books about the
life of Azerbaijani communities abroad.
A resolution is expected to be made at the third conference. Talks
will be held on the results of the second conference.
The first conference of Azerbaijani communities was held in Baku on
November 9-10, 2001, initiated by Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev.
406 delegates and 63 guests from 36 states visited the conference. The
conference determined members of the Coordination Council of
Azerbaijani Communities, Heydar Aliyev was elected as its chairman.
The second conference was held in Baku on March 16, 2006. 593
delegates and 388 guests from 49 states attended it. Azerbaijani
President Ilham Aliyev was elected as Chairman of the Coordination
Council of Azerbaijani Communities.
The chairman of the State Committee for Diasporas, Nazim Ibragimov,
said that Azerbaijani communities have turned into a power that
influences political life.
