Head of Dagestani school might have been killed by militants

The prosecuting authorities in Dagestan consider that the murder of
the headmaster of a school in the village of Sovetskoye in the
Magaramkentsky district was committed on the grounds of revenge for
his anti-extremist and anti-militant position, as well as for
introducing a ban on hijabs in the school, RIA Novosti reports, with
reference to the representative of the Investigative Department in the
republic.

The headmaster, Sadikullah Akhmedov, was killed on Saturday night in
the courtyard of his house.

Akhmedov publicly spoke against religious extremists and banned the
hijab in school, the spokesman said.
