The Tarchen river in the Zugdidi district in Western Georgia has
flooded nearby houses and land as a result of heavy rains. On Monday
the head of the Zugdidi district municipality, Alexander Kobalia, said
that the flooding was so severe that it had swept over large
livestock, News Georgia reports. Roads and bridges have been damaged
in the area.
Kobalia said a special commission is already evaluating the damage to the area.
