The Caspian-European integration business club (CEIBC) held a council
on environmental security in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku,
APA-Economics reports. SOCAR’s vice-president Soltan Aliyev spoke
about environmental work being carried out in the Caspian.
He said that no one was safe from the type of incident that recently
occurred in the Gulf of Mexico.
The head of a department at the Ministry of Emergencies Arif
Iskenderov noted that the ministry had developed and presented a
strategic document on the prevention of sea pollution to experts.
The head of the department of ecological monitoring of the Caspian of
the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Mirsalam Gambarov noted
that there are 31 facilities operating in the Azerbaijani sector of
the Caspian.
The head of SOCAR’s drilling department Shaig Bakiyev spoke about
installed high-tech equipment.
