60,000 without electricity in Chechnya

About 60,000 people were left without electricity in Chechnya after a
hurricane on Sunday, RIA Novosti cites the spokesman for the regional
directorate of the Interior Ministry, Timur Taysumov, as saying.


The power cut happened in Shali and the villages of Germenchuk and
Avtury, which comprise about 56,000 people.


Three blocks were shut down at the Argun thermal power plant and the
power plant in Shali.


95,000 people were left without electricity in Shalinsky District.


Power was restored at night for 39,000.
