Dagestani schools introduce new educational standards

The Ministry of Education and Science of Dagestan in the framework of
complex of measures on the modernization of the educational system in
2011 plans to provide free textbooks for all children who enter first
grade this year, RIA Dagestan reports, citing the ministry.

In the academic year of 2011/2012, first graders will receive free
textbooks; in 2012/2013 - pupils of the first two grades will receive
the textbooks, in 2013/2014 - pupils of the first three grades, while
in 2014/2015 all students in the primary school will receive
textbooks. The textbooks will be given to children for the duration of
the school year and will be returned at the end of the school year.

On September 1, 2011 Russia starts a reform of education in the first
grades of all schools. The new education system will alienate from the
'broad' education and will be defined by specializations.
