The former Armenian Prime Minister, Grant Bagratyan, said that there
are no measures being taken against corruption. Reduction of inflation
needs breaking the monopoly, he believes, News.am reports.
The retail price for petrol in Armenia should be reduced from 460-480
to 350 drams. Oil cost $130 per barrel, now it costs $85. The price
for gas dropped by only 10 drams.
Another way to cope with inflation is payment for foreign transfers if
the Central Bank purchases more currency.
The former prime minister said that he had held discussions with the
financial authorities. The dram may drop to 440, causing inflation.
Formal inflation may reach 3% in July.
