Moscow's population reaches 11.5 million

The population of Moscow increased by 15,200 people in the first half
of 2010, the head of the Moscow department for economic policy and
development, Marina Ogloblina, said. The population reached 11.5
million, RIA Novosti reports.


Ogloblina said that the population increase from lower death rate and
higher birth. The death rate dropped by 0.5%, compared with 2010.


Unemployment dropped by 2,400. Moscow has 42,900 unemployed, 0.42% of
the employable population.


She added that the demand for job replacements is about 145,000,
exceeding the previous year's indicator by 2,000.
