1,464,779 first graders will start school on September 1, Russian
Deputy Minister for Education and Science Maksim Dulinov said, RIA

Dulinov said that the number of first graders increased by 33,000.
Over 100,000 teachers underwent advanced training. New equipment and
school books were purchased. 48,000 schools will open, over 28,000 of
them in villages. About 90% of North Caucasian schools are ready for
the new academic year.
Over 5.5 million children will attend pre-school, 850,000 will attend
kindergartens.
The deputy police chief and head of public security, Vyacheslav
Kozlov, said that over 10,000 police officers will enforce order.
About 4,400 new education centers, 2,000 schools, 2,000 preschools,
273 secondary vocational education centers and 243 higher education
centers will open.
The police checked all schools for bombs, special instructions were
organized for school staff.
