Azerbaijan will build 7-8 more water treatment facilities on the banks
of the Kura and Araks Rivers, Minister for Ecology and Natural
Resources Guseyngulu Bagirov said, Trend reports.
The facilities were tested by late 2011. Usually water treatment
facilities need 3-4 months of tests. They will be launched in the
first quarter of 2012.
The facilities will be automatic and easy to operate. Many
currently-operating facilities were built by the oil consortium and
are malfunctioning. They consume large quantities of electricity with
low productivity. Eventually the old facilities will be replaced.
