Several streets in Batumi to receive new names

Batumi locals will take part in renaming streets. Chairman of the
special commission Geno Tebidze introduced names for streets. One of
the streets at the ethnographic museum will be renamed to Mikhail
Sharashidze, founder of a men's gymnasium, Georgia Online reports.


The Zelyonaya and Oranzhevaya Streets are being renamed by villagers
of Kakhaberi. The street at school N26 will be named after Mukhran
Machavariani.


Batumi has streets named after foreign public figures and businessmen.
A name on the Novy Avenue was named after Lech and Maria Kaczynski.
There is a street named after an Arab Sheikh Nakhayan bin Mubarak Al
Nakhayan. Streets named after businessmen Nuratin Charmikli connects
the Streets of Ninoshvili and Khimshiashvili. The Street of Ilya
Chavchavadze in Makhinjauri was renamed after a Chinese agriculturist
Lao Zhon-zhau. New streets may be named after foreigners who
contributed to development of Georgia may appear in the future.
