Two Chechens killed in Istanbul may be terrorists of Doku Umarov, APA reports.
Berg-Haj Musayev and Rustam Altemirov were suspected in organizing the blast at the International Airport of Domodedovo.
Three Chechens were killed in Istanbul center on September 16. The killer escaped. Turkey announced their names: Zaurbek Amriyev, Berg-Haj Musayev and Rustam Altemirov. Berg-Haj Musayev is known as Khamzat, a henchman of Doku Umarov. He is suspected inbrainwashing Magomed Yevloyev for the blast.
Turkish investigators believe that the killed Chechens were killed by a 55-year old Russian Alexander Zhirkov. He rented a car on the outskirts of Istanbul on September 4 to make a two-week visit to Antalya. he left his room right before the special forces entered it. They found documents, a pistol with a silencer, a mask and night-vision goggles.
Zhirkov also visited Istanbul in March 2009, when other Chechens were killed, including Musa Atayev, a representative of Doku Umarov. Turkish Caucasian organizations believe in Russian involvement in the case. Spokesman of the Russian Public Chamber Maksim Shevchenko noted that if the killed Chechens were involved in terrorism it is logical for someone to eliminate them in a “war”.
The terrorist attack at the Domodedovo International Airport happened on January 24, 2011. Ingush native Magomed Yevloyev activated a bomb killing 37 people.
