Well-known journalist Oleg Tsyganov dies

The famous Russian journalist Oleg Vladimirovich Tsyganov, who had worked for the legendary newspaper Izvestia for decades, has died.

He held a presentation of a new project “Azerbaijan”, published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta. The project originally started at the Izvestia paper. Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Geydar Aliyev stated new prospects for partnership between their countries in 2000. He improved the image of Azerbaijan as a friendly state to Russia and an authoritative state in the South Caucasus. The journalist published interviews with the Azerbaijani president, high-ranking officials, top-managers and famous figures. He published several books.
