Round table "Ethnic Composition of Russia: Transformation and Challenges" takes place in Moscow

Central Asia is a region important for Russia, but there is no organized
political force there for the implementation of projects with the Russian
side, the head of the Department of Ethnology of the History Faculty of
Moscow State University, Sergei Polyakov, told a round-table discussion on the
topic: "Ethnic Composition of Russia: Transformation and Challenges."

A round-table discussion on the topic "The ethnic composition of Russia: Transformation
and Challenges" was held today, RIA Novosti reports. The participants discussed the problems associated with migration policy,
urbanization of the population, numbering and rights of the peoples of
Russia and ethnic tensions, as well as issues related to the future of the
Eurasian space as a whole.
