Iran has sent several rescue teams and humanitarian aid - food, medicines,
tents and blankets - to Turkey, which was hit by an earthquake. The Iranian province of
West Azerbaijan expressed its readiness to take on the treatment of victims,
ITAR-TASS reports, with reference to Iranian news agencies.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 occurred in the Turkish province of
Van on Sunday. It was followed by a series of aftershocks, the most powerful
with a magnitude of 6.0 occurred in the late evening the same day. There are
reports of hundreds dead.
